What are Online Lectures
and how they work
Online lectures give you all the advantages of a talk by
a topic specialist, professor, university lecturer or author,
without the need to travel to the talk.
All that is needed is a computer. If the talk is to be for a group
of students and you have access to a whiteboard that is an advantage.
The talk is played on Adobe Flash player. If you do not have Flash player
on the computer you will use you can download, it from a link on our
pay-to-view page free of charge.
A summary of the talk with questions to consider on an A4 sheet (in pdf)
is available for every talk. You are advised to print this sheet before
you begin to play the talk. Talks are 27-30 minutes in length.
The length allows a group to assemble and a short time for discussion
in normal-length school/college study sessions.
Talks are delivered streamed. The popup video player has the usual controls:
start, pause, forward, back (bottom left of screen) and audio volume
When the lecture starts, you can adjust size and position of the screen.
Once you have closed (as distinct from paused) the video talk you
are unable to re-access the talk.
Payment for talks is made through PayPal.
It is fully secure means of payment: PayPal one of the mainvehicles in the world for internet payment.
You are able to print a receipt for your payment if this
is necessary to reclaim expenses from your school/college.
Sempringham is willing to provide corroboration of payment if needed.
